Youth Day Camp Information:
We hope that you are as anxious for camp to start as we are! You will find information that should be helpful. Please feel free to e-mail us - ctbasketballcamp@hotmail.com - with any further questions.
-
Camp drop-off begins at Gampel Pavilion at 8:30 AM. Campers should proceed directly to Gampel Pavilion floor, where they will find their assigned teams. Camp begins promptly at 9:00AM. Parents who have authorized medications (form required, see below) should hand them at this time to the camp medical staff.
-
Authorization for the Administration of Medication: Please note that per state law, we cannot administer any medication (including over the counter medications such as Tylenol) without a form signed by the doctor prescribing the medication. You can find the this form by logging on to www.genoauriemmacamp.com/campers after you have registered. If you do bring a medication to camp, it needs to be in the original container (labeled with camper's name), and then put into a "ziploc" bag with any other medications, also with the camper's name. All these medications will be turned into the medical staff at check-in.
- Other required forms: All campers must bring (or have on file) the completed Health Exam/Medical form and the Parental Consent form. NO CAMPER WILL BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN CAMP UNLESS THESE FORMS ARE TURNED IN.
- Cancellation and Refund Policy: Notice of camper cancellation/request for refund must be sent in writing in order to be valid for a refund. Full refunds, minus an administration fee, will be made prior to April 1st. No refund for any reason after April 1st.
- Activities: Each segment of the Connecticut Girls Basketball Camp is 3-4 hours long and includes a number of the following activities; drill stations, league games, lectures, film sessions, individual and team practices, 1 on 1 and 3 on 3 tournaments, and foul shooting and hot-shot contests.
- Camp Store: The camp store will be open during free-time. T-shirts, shorts, and snack items will be available.
- Contact Numbers: In the event that your parents need to reach you during camp, they may leave a message at our office, 860-486-4756. We will have other emergency numbers for your parents at check-in.
- Shopping at the UCONN Co-op: Please note that campers ARE NOT ALLOWED in the UCONN Co-op store unless accompanied by a parent before camp begins on the first day, or after camp ends on the last day . The Co-op is not supervised by our staff, and if a camper is found in the Co-op they will be sent home immediately.
- Phones: There are no phones located in the dorms or Gampel Pavilion.
- Attire: Tank tops are not allowed under any circumstances. All campers must have sleeves on their shirts. We strongly encourage all campers to wear proper basketball attire - we are at camp to play basketball…not have a fashion show!
- Parking: There is a parking directly across the street from Gampel Pavilion in the South Parking Garage. Campus police will ticket any car that is not parked in the parking garage.
- Visitors: Parents are only allowed to watch games (visit) on the last day of camp after lunch.
- Awards Ceremony: The awards ceremony will be held at Gampel Pavilion during the last half-hour of the last day of camp.
- Checkout will be after the awards ceremony on the last day of camp.
- Dismissal Policy: There will be no refund for any camper dismissed from camp. Grounds for dismissal include but are not limited to: vandalism, tampering with safety equipment, use of alcohol, drugs or tobacco products, harassment and not following verbal instructions/rules given on the first day of camp.
Please e-mail us if you have any further questions. We look forward to seeing you at camp!.
